Building my Twitter account

As I mentioned in my last post, I am in the process of starting a retail jobs listings site to complement the popular Teen Job board that I already own. As a part of my marketing/outreach startegy, I have started a Twitter account to post the latestt jobs and retail jobs news. You can follow me @retailjobsusa .

I discovered a great new tool that will help me grow my Twitter followers fast. The site is called Twitter Friends and it is an easy way to get new followers. All you have to do is sign up, and when you follow pwople you get credits. Then you offer those credits to others so that they will follow you. It is a great idea and I have already gained 500 new followers in a week on my personal account and I will be looking to build my retail jobs account shortly.

Retail Jobs for Teens

I have not posted here in a while because I have been so busy creating a retail jobs board that will be the second job board in my niche job site network. I am really hustling so I can be ready for the seasonal retail jobs that are being advertised right now for the holiday rush. Even if I miss out on this holiday season, I will be up and running in time for summer retail jobs season. I will post again when we are ready to launch...Stay stuned..

It is Halloween night and I wanted to write a quick post and let everyone know that the summer jobs search is happening early this year. There has already been a summer camp jobs posting on Teen Jobs scene . As I have always said it is important to start looking for a summer job early and I am a bit surprised at how early some companies have started this year. I usually see activity around Christmas. Well, knowing that companies are already starting to receive applications it is important that you start preparing for your summer job now. It is never to early to start planning and get your teen resume ready.

We are still growing and experiencing our heaviest traffic ever. With the summer months approaching and jobs for teens becoming more readily available, we have seen a spike in visitors as well as jobs. We are always looking for ways to improve our site and we recently conducted a audit of our site. We conducted surveys and these are the results of what you wanted most in a teen job board . This is both from the employers and candidates' perspective.

You said- Make it easy to purchase.- We have done that, it is simple to purchase job postings and resume access. You simply create a profile and you can pay through PayPal. The great part is that a regular listing is still FREE.

You said - Make your job board easy to use. We went through a complete re-design several months ago to make our site incredibly easy to use. You can search our jobs through categories or through a traditional search box. Our most recent jobs are always on the first page. We think it is the worst when job boards make you find the jobs.

You said- send me an email when a job matches- We listened and we now offer job alerts. Just set up a profile and we will send you an email when your perfect job becomes available.

These are the three major changes we have implemented this month based on your feedback.

TeenJobScene.com partners with Indeed

TeenJobScene.com made a major step forward today as they continue their goal to be the #1 Teen Jobs site. Today TGS announced that they will be feeding in the latest teen related jobs from Indeed. Indeed is the largest job aggregater in the world and this partnership will benefit the teen job seekers tremendously. Basically, this will double or even triple the amount of teen jobs that will now be available to search for on TJS. Most of these position will be for teens in the 16-20 year old category. There are job listing available for 14 and 15 year olds as well.
If you haven't been to TJS in a while, I encourage you to check it out. Conduct a search in your area and you are sure to find some great jobs for teens .

Teen Job Scene- updates

I wanted to take a minute and provide an update about our teen job board . First off, Thank you all for your support. It is because of you guys that we have risen to the #1 teen jobs site in just under 3 months. That is simply amazing. If you were to go to Google and search for "teen jobs" you will see that we have made it to the front page of Google. It usually takes years to get there for such a competitive keyword phrase but the quality of our site and the hard work of our SEO and marketing team has payed off. The other sites in page 1 are SnagaJob, which is a part time job site, but for everyone from teens to seniors. There are also listings for GotaJob and TeenJobSection, these two sites are garbage sites that are linked to and affiliated with Snagajob and helps drive traffic to their site. The other sites are run by About.com which is a general site for everything under the sun. So again, Thanks for making us the #1 ranked teen job board.

I have one announcement, the free jobs listings will end on April 1. Employers, you still have over a week to get all your jobs listed for free.

Summer jobs

Summer jobs postings are being added to our job board at a rapid pace. In the past week, we have added hundreds of new summer jobs for teens. My two major categories are summer camp counselors and lifeguard jobs .
