I have seen a tremendous surge in the amount of marketing intern jobs that have been posted on TeenJobScene.com. In the past month Marketing Intern jobs is the second leading category. Camp Counselors is currently number 1, this makes sense because February and March are prime time for summer employment searches.
I attribute the rise in Marketing Internships geared to teens to the growth of social media. Many of these companies are looking for their interns to maintain their blogs and create a presence for them on MySpace or FaceBook or Twitter. It seems like all the online activity that teens have been doing for years can actually pay off with a career in online marketing.
